Greetings

I crashed my bike on the 23rd March, due to a car drivers incompetence!! So my training and racing has consisted of doing not alot, due to having 5 stitches in my head, and muscle and nerve damage to my neck, back and arm.

No training and racing makes for a GRUMPY old Trevor!!! (Sympathy please)!!!!!!!!!!!! ;-) ;-)

If I hear another one of my clients or training partners tell me what a lovely Easter weekend they've had outside in the sunshine, I swear i'm going to Scream!!!!! (more sympathy) ;-)

Take care all of you who can training. ;-) I'm off now to get the tissues to dry my eyes!!!!!!!

Hey Trevor

Afraid I can only add to your woes! Went down to North Devon for Easter - the weather was amazing - sunny the whole time....just couldn't help myself, fitting in a great long bike ride over North Dartmoor (some truly great hills there!) and a couple of 5 mile runs along the Tarka Trail.

Just returned to Epsom and had a lazy 4 mile run to stretch the legs out after the drive back.

Hope things are improving with your injuries (bloody motorists); When can you start training again?

Cheers

Hello Julian

Just kick a man when he's down!! ;-)

Hopefully I should be able to start training again in about another month.

Now i'm off to cry! ;-)

Take care.

Hi Trevor

A month will fly past...looking positively, think how rested and chomping at the bit you'll be to get out there and get back to where you were....and beyond.

Afraid I have to confess to a fairly pleasant 20miles of biking over Headley and Box Hill today; back to work tomorrow though so back to early starts...

Cheers

A thundery 3mile run this morning AND the day just got better - re-affirmed I'm a mild overpronator and just splashed out on a long overdue new pair of Asics Gel-Kayano 15's. Should give a boost, albeit psychologically...

Reasonably hard turbo session this morning - 5min endurance intervals @ ave 26.9mph. Also slotted in 50 lengths swim on the way to work.

All set for a fast run tomorrow and a long bike on Sunday. 1 week to go until the Epsom CC weekly TT's start which will sharpen me up, and 5 Weeks to go to first tri - starting to feel quite good...

No Swim!!!! :-(

No Bike!!!!! :-(

No Run!!!!! :-(

But at least i've now cleaned all my bikes. And all my water bottles. I'm thinking about putting a couple of pairs of running shoes through the washing machine. I did think about ironing some tri suits. But then thought that may be going a bit to far!!! ;-)

When I do start training again, i'm going to be the cleanest/smartest kid on the road!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;-)

First run in my new asics today - wow so much more stability. Even managed to shave 27 secs off a local route PB.

This is for Trevor for inspiration for the big comeback...

Bricks today - 20mile bike ride on TT bike at reasonable MPH followed by 5k run. Run felt sluggish but took a minute off the same session from a fortnight ago...

can't complain - with the weather like it is - 1500metres swim in an outdoor pool didnt really seem like too much of a hardship today!

BTW - still early days but since investing in new trainers, have suffered far less stiffness and sciatic nerve problems post running...
