Permalink Reply by Slippy on April 17, 2011 at 6:52pm Trainings been all over the place lately and so have the results. Know what I need to do, keep racing some hard intervals and a bit of distance work, coming up short in the last 10 miles of a 50 mile race. Don't think I did enough sub-threshold work in the early season.
Finished today with the bunch but race was cancelled after a horse bolted into the pack, no one seriously hurt, human or animal.
Stats were 37 miles raced at 24.5 mph average with 2500ft of climbing on a course profile that looked like a set of teeth, wither up or down.
Hi Slippy, Good to hear from you - that sounds like quite a workout!
Training cut short last week due to travel commitments. Back for a full on week - punishing turbo interval session last night; felt strong. 1 week until first TT and 4 weeks to first Tri - feel there or thereabouts - the races will reveal the truth!
Permalink Reply by Kevin Maye on April 19, 2011 at 8:46am Been struggling to get my head staright for training, had a stern word with myself on Saturday and ran much better last night. Now where is that punture repair kit, and the swim goggles?
Oh and got to share, found a pair of trainers I bought last year (at full price) on the sale shelf, £12 - oh yes!!
Permalink Reply by Kevin Maye on May 3, 2011 at 2:55pm Decorating finally completed and slowly getting some structure back into training. Running pretty well and fairly regular, but first swim for ages on Sunday morning and I was rubbish. Few sessions to get some swim fitness back.
And still need to fix that puncture!
Permalink Reply by Kevin Maye on May 14, 2011 at 10:11am Swimming slowly improving and running going well. Looking at Doncaster Lakeside tri in Sept. So have to get that puncture fixed now.
Looks like your going the right way Kevin!
My bike turbo training stats are now way up on last year though still not feeling 100% on the road That said, TT times improving week-on-week. Embarking on a 3 week "sharpener" training block as highlighted in Cycling Weekly recently...hope it works as it would be nice to get in the hunt for a PB or two!
Permalink Reply by Slippy on June 10, 2011 at 11:45am Back again, life's been strange lately but there we go. Been getting loads of training in easy miles mixed with really hard sessions either on the road. Almost sick at the end of on set of intervals on the turbo. Just need to race to test where I am at. Got a 25tt next week so that should be a good test. Need to define what I am aiming at.

Finally fixed the bike on Tuesday and took it for a quick spin yesterday. Oh dear I need more time in the saddle.
Doncaster Lakeside Tri in Sept now my target for this year, wish they would open registrations.
Good to hear from you both.
I'm just preying for windless conditions! It's been windy for weeks now; not one fast TT yet and I'm feeling in good nick too! Aiming for a peak end July...Even bothered after a two year gap to put new batteries back into my Polar HRM - must be my age but looks like my max HRM is falling!
If you need a plan, try out the new feature I added to the site last week - Training Planner.
